Oakwood Escrow believes that the service of the armed forces should be honored year-round and not only remembered on Memorial Day, which lands on May 27th this year. Recently, Oakwood Escrow partnered with the San Diego County Law Enforcement Foundation for their First Annual Golf Classic. The event, which was held at the Riverwalk Golf Club on Friday, April 4th 2014 with a shotgun start, was a 4 Person Scramble style Golf Tournament. All proceeds benefited the San Diego County Law Enforcement Foundation, a 501(c)3 dedicated to providing financial support to the San Diego County’s Sheriff and Police Departments. Financial support is distributed in the forms of Equipment Grants, Continuing Education Scholarships, Family Assistance Fund for families of officers killed in the line of duty and other programs as deemed worthy by the Foundation.
Oakwood Escrow’s next opportunity to support our service men and women is on May 8th, where they will be hosting a Ocho de Mayo event for the Veterans Association Real Estate Professionals Group (VAREP). The event will be held at Oakwood Escrow’s offices at 16855 W. Bernardo Drive Suite 300 San Diego CA92127 from 5-8pm on May 8th, 2014. The community event will feature live mariachi music, tacos, margaritas, and more from partners including FINE Magazine, Laughing Glass Cocktails, and Gen 7 Wines. Proceeds from the event will go towards VAREP, a community service organization dedicated to increasing sustainable homeownership and economic development for the active military and veteran communities.
