San Diego’s warm, summer air calls for nights out and watching the beautiful sunset on the West Coast. Here at Oakwood Escrow, we want to share few of our favorite locations in San Diego to go view the sunset at.
Sunset Cliffs
Literally in the name, Sunset Cliffs in Ocean Beach is one of the most picturesque spots to view the sunset. While parking during peak sunset viewing times may be difficult, there are plenty of neighborhood streets to find parking on when heading to Sunset Cliffs. If you park in a neighborhood, you’ll have just a short walk over to the cliffs that are sitting right over the Pacific Ocean where you can watch an incredible sunset over the crashing waves.

Torrey Pines Gliderport
Right across from UCSD, Gliderport sits right above Black’s Beach and offers incredible views of La Jolla’s coastline. Watch hang gliders flying through the sky while enjoying a picture perfect sunset. There’s plenty of cliffside to explore to find the perfect spot to watch the sunset, but be careful of the cliff’s edges. Parking is free in a dirt lot that leads right into Gliderport, but there’s street parking leading up to the dirt lot as well.

Mt. Soledad Veterans Memorial
If you’re craving a little more out of your sunset viewings, Mt. Soledad in La Jolla offers you a 360 degree view of San Diego. Anywhere you look you’ll see incredible views of the city, not to mention the entire coastline soaking up the sunset. Parking can be tricky, so make sure to arrive early and check out the memorial dedicated to veterans while you’re here.
