It’s officially Fall and official October! We’re ready to trade in all things summer and prepare for the cooler months ahead. Decorating for the season is one of our favorite ways to get into the Fall spirit, so here are our top ways to move into Fall and head toward the holidays!
Nothing screams Fall and holidays like a good candle. We love all candles scented with pumpkin, warm spices, cinnamon, crisp flavors, etc. Adding in a few candles per room that liven up the area with their warm, Fall scents really gets your head into the Fall spirit, whether you’re aware of it or not. Scent has such a strong pull on our emotions, and something about the warm, cozy scents of Fall may help put you in a relaxed, serene mood. Pick candles that make you feel happy when you smell them and you can’t go wrong! Some of our favorites come from the Fall line at Bath and Body Works, which include Leaves, Sweater Weather, Caramel Pumpkin Swirl, and Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin.
Your decor in your home most likely reflects your personal style and taste. What better way to show off your love for the holidays and Fall time than switching up a few pieces of decor? We know that decorating your home can be expensive, so adding a few touches of Fall here and there can really spice up your space without depleting your wallet. Whether it’s adding in a few new candles, a Fall themed blanket, wall art, or pillows, there’s a ton of ways to show off your personal style while adding that Fall touch to get you into the Fall spirit! We personally love to add a new centerpiece to our table with dark oranges and reds, adding pumpkin themed decor in warm tones to wall units and coffee tables, and placing a Fall themed wreath and doormat on your front porch to living up the outside of your home. Homegoods, Big Lots and Hobby Lobby are great places to buy Fall decor at an affordable price if you’re looking to spice up your home!
Fall food! You don’t have to wait until Thanksgiving to indulge in Fall themed foods. Between smelling your Fall candles and tasting Fall comfort foods, you’ll be in the Fall spirit in no time! While summertime is great for acai bowls and lighter meals, something about Fall just calls us in to bake yummy treats and cook more meals. When it comes to desserts, anything apple, cinnamon, and of course, everything pumpkin comes to mind for baking. For cooking, heartier soups come to mind, such as butternut squash, cheesy potato soup, etc. Some of these soups can be super easy to make and don’t require a ton of ingredients! Play around with your Pinterest and find some new Fall recipes to try out for the family.
